Gareth Southgate has resigned as manager of England’s men’s football team, following their defeat in the Euro 2024 final. He has held the position for eight years, leading the team to three major tournament finals. On LinkedIn, members paid tribute to his empathy and leadership style, and praised his achievements on and off the pitch. Former England player Gary Neville said that Southgate “created one of the most successful periods in English football history”. Inclusion expert Kate Isichei said Southgate “was not afraid to show each and every single player the same level of attention, interest and affection”. “Gareth Southgate has proven that you can change culture and be successful while also behaving decently and with integrity,” wrote creative director Jason Ward.
